Prep the produce: Rinse turmeric and ginger. No need to peel if they’re fresh and clean; just scrub well. Roll the lemons on the counter to release more juice.
Juicer method: Run turmeric, ginger, and peeled lemons through a juicer.
Add water to dilute to taste.
Blender method: Add 1 cup water, 1–1.5 inches fresh turmeric, 1 inch fresh ginger, and the juice of 2 lemons to a blender. Blend until smooth, then strain through a fine sieve or nut milk bag. Add more water to taste.
Season: Stir in a pinch of black pepper to boost curcumin absorption and a small pinch of sea salt to enhance flavor.
Sweeten with 1–2 teaspoons honey if you like.
Adjust: Taste and tweak. More lemon for brightness, more water to soften the heat, or a touch more honey if it’s too sharp.
Serve: Pour over ice for a refreshing tonic, or gently warm on the stove (do not boil) for a cozy, soothing drink.
