Cottage Cheese With Berries and Honey – Simple, Fresh, and Satisfying

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • Cottage cheese: 1 cup, any style you like (small curd or large curd). Choose full-fat for extra creaminess or low-fat for a lighter bowl.
  • Mixed berries: About 1 cup. Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries all work. Fresh or thawed frozen berries are fine.
  • Honey: 1–2 teaspoons, to taste. Use more if your berries are tart.
  • Optional crunch: A handful of granola, chopped nuts, or seeds (almonds, walnuts, pistachios, chia, or hemp hearts).
  • Optional flavor boosters: A pinch of cinnamon, a splash of vanilla extract, lemon zest, or a few fresh mint leaves.
  • Optional fruit add-ins: Sliced banana, peach, or a few pitted cherries if you want a little extra sweetness.
  • Pinch of salt: Optional, but a tiny pinch wakes up the flavors.

Method

  1. Prep the berries. Rinse fresh berries and pat dry. If using frozen, thaw briefly and drain excess liquid so the bowl doesn’t get watery.
  2. Scoop the cottage cheese. Add 1 cup to a bowl and give it a quick stir to smooth it out. A small pinch of salt can enhance the flavor.
  3. Add the berries. Scatter them over the top. Keep them whole or slice larger berries for easier bites.
  4. Drizzle with honey. Start with 1 teaspoon and add more if needed. If your berries are very sweet, you may need less.
  5. Top with crunch. Sprinkle on granola, nuts, or seeds for texture. This keeps the bowl satisfying and not one-note.
  6. Finish with flavor. Dust with cinnamon, add a few drops of vanilla, or grate a little lemon zest. Fresh mint leaves make it feel extra fresh.
  7. Stir or layer. You can mix everything together for a creamy, fruity blend or eat it layered for distinct bites.
