Cherry Vanilla Yogurt Smoothie - Creamy, Bright, and Ready in Minutes

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups frozen pitted cherries (dark sweet cherries work best)
  • 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (or regular yogurt for a lighter texture)
  • 3/4 cup milk (dairy or unsweetened almond, oat, or soy milk)
  • 1–2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract (start with 1 teaspoon, add more to taste)
  • 1–2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, adjust to your sweetness preference)
  • 1 small banana, sliced and frozen (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • Pinch of salt (optional, to sharpen flavors)
  • Ice cubes (only if using fresh cherries or if you want it extra thick)

Method

  1. Load the blender: Add the milk first, followed by yogurt, frozen cherries, banana (if using), vanilla, and a small pinch of salt.
  2. Sweeten to taste: Drizzle in honey or maple syrup. If your cherries are very sweet, start with less and add more later.
  3. Blend until smooth: Start on low, then increase to high for 30–45 seconds. If it’s too thick, add a splash of milk. If it’s too thin, add a few frozen cherries or ice.
  4. Taste and adjust: Add a touch more vanilla for warmth, more honey for sweetness, or a squeeze of lemon if you want a little brightness.
  5. Serve immediately: Pour into a chilled glass. For a café-style finish, dust with a pinch of cinnamon or shave a little dark chocolate on top.
