Apple Slices With Peanut Butter Dip - A Simple, Satisfying Snack

Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 3–4 crisp apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, Gala, or Pink Lady are great)
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (natural or no-stir; see notes in Pitfalls)
  • 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt (or dairy-free yogurt)
  • 1–2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of fine salt (optional but recommended)
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk (dairy or non-dairy), as needed to thin
  • Optional toppings: cinnamon, mini chocolate chips, chopped peanuts, chia seeds
  • Optional anti-browning bath for apples: 1 cup cold water + 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method

  1. Prep the apples: Wash and dry the apples. Slice into wedges about 1/2-inch thick. If you’re prepping ahead, stir the lemon juice into cold water, dip the slices for 30 seconds, then pat dry.
  2. Mix the base: In a medium bowl, stir together peanut butter and Greek yogurt until smooth and creamy. If it’s too stiff, add a splash of milk and keep stirring.
  3. Add flavor: Stir in maple syrup (or honey), vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Taste and adjust sweetness. If you like, add a pinch of cinnamon for warmth.
  4. Adjust consistency: You want a dip that clings to apples without feeling heavy. Add more milk, 1 teaspoon at a time, until it’s scoopable and glossy.
  5. Garnish (optional): Sprinkle mini chocolate chips, chopped peanuts, or chia seeds on top for texture.
  6. Serve: Transfer the dip to a small bowl and arrange the apple slices around it. Enjoy right away, or chill the dip for 15–20 minutes to thicken slightly.
